Hanna Heino is a contemporary artist from Finland.
After a fifteen-year career in interior design, the artist set up her artist studio in 2019, and has been developing her sculptural output ever since.
The environment the artist experienced as a child - spent in the Finnish wilderness - provides abundant nourishment for her current creations. Indeed, from a very early age, her expression was oriented towards an aesthetic appreciation of nature. Her formal language pays homage to the beauty and subtle nuances of nature, its textures, shapes, and depth.
Clay is Hanna Heino's material of choice. She applies modern and ancient techniques to create organic forms from this material closely linked to the earth. The artist's relationship with nature is thus expressed in a formal way but is also inscribed in the material she works with.
"I love to wander in nature, collect branches, stones and get impressions of purity and calmness. My work reflects the constantly evolving organisms and subtle shades that I sense. I find it important to work sustainably; recycle all the excess material, minimize water use and favor local resources. The artwork captures the elements which intrigue me: sincerity, unbounded imagination, freedom, and the intuitional way to experience life.”
